FMNS UNESA Road to ASIIN International Accreditation
The improvement of quality in the field of higher education continues to be encouraged by the State University of Surabaya. The dream of becoming a world-class university continues to be realized in various forms of quality improvement and achievement, particularly commitment to quality in the learning process, academic mobility, research, and community empowerment. For this reason, Unesa strives to achieve international accreditation in order to meet global standards in the provision of superior knowledge workers in the future. One of them is by getting ASIIN accreditation (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik or Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics / Computer Science, the Natural Sciences and Mathematics). ASIIN's accreditation covers the fields of Mechanical Engineering / Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering / Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Geodesy and Architecture, Informatics / Computer Science, Physical Technologies, Materials and Processes, Engineering and Management, Economics, Business Informatics / Information Systems, Agriculture, Nutritional Sciences and Landscape Architecture, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Geosciences, Mathematics, & Physics.
Based on Announcement Number 1167 / E2 / TU / 2020 dated June 2, 2020, five Study Programs at FMIPA Unesa received ASIIN International accreditation facilitation grants from the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture. The five study programs are: (1) S1 Biology Education; (2) S1 Physics Education; (3) S1 Chemistry Education; (4) S1 Mathematics Education; and (5) S1 Science Education. Then the five study programs compiled a Self-Assessment Report (SAR) to meet all the requirements set by this accreditation agency based in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Furthermore, on Friday, October 23, 2020 at the Rectorate Building, 9th Floor of the Lidah Wetan Campus, an official delivery of accreditation documents was held by the Rector of Unesa to ASIIN for five FMIPA study programs. This event was chaired by Unesa Rector, Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes. who was accompanied by the Vice Rector for General Affairs and Finance, Suprapto, S.Pd., M.T., Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Dr. Madlazim, M.Si. and Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Fida Rachmadiarti, M.Kes. In addition, the event was also attended by leaders from five departments / study programs, the Unesa Quality Assurance Center team, and the FMIPA Quality Assurance Group.
If nothing gets in the way, then in December 2020 an online visitation will be carried out by the ASIIN team and an offline visitation will be scheduled for 2021. Let's pray for the best for the five Study Programs at FMIPA, hopefully the process will be carried out until we get the ASIIN Seal to realize FMIPA. Jaya and Unesa are one step ahead (Red).
